Bank of Georgetown Expands Lending Team
WASHINGTON, D.C., August 26, 2013 — Bank of Georgetown, a leading community bank chartered in Washington, D.C., has expanded its lending team with the hiring of Jeff Wood as Vice President, Commercial Real Estate; and Blair O’Connell as Assistant Vice President, Commercial Lending.

Jeff Wood will focus on extending Bank of Georgetown’s commercial real estate footprint in Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties, as well as Northern Virginia. He most recently served as Vice President, Commercial Real Estate at M&T Bank. His 25 years of commercial real estate lending experience spans all commercial and residential property types, business development, and credit risk management in the Washington metro area.
A life-long Montgomery County resident, Wood holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Maryland. Until recently, he served on the Board of Directors of the Home Builders Care Foundation and was an associate member of the Maryland National Capital Builders Industry Association. Wood lives with his wife in Olney; they have two grown children.
Blair O’Connell joins Bank of Georgetown from Old Line Bank (previously The Washington Savings Bank), where he served as a commercial loan officer. He will be based out of the bank’s Montgomery County lending office and will focus on retaining and expanding client relationships throughout Maryland, Virginia and D.C.
O’Connell is a graduate of Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business, holding a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in finance and management. A D.C. resident for nearly 10 years, he is an active member of the St. Anselm’s Abbey School Alumni Network and is a member of The Order of Malta.
